Today I’m going to show you a typical dessert: “sporcamuss” from my own city, Bari. Sporcamuss is served in every restaurant and it’s very easy to make at home by yourself with very few ingredients. The name is in our dialect, “sporcamuss” that means “get dirty your mouth” because this dessert is filled with hot cream, so when you take the first bite, inevitably the cream comes out and you have your mouth dirty.

PREP TIME: 5 minutes
COOK TIME: 15 minutes
TOT TIME: 20 minutes

INGREDIENTS
Puff pastry sheets
Custard
1 egg yolk
Icing sugar to taste

PREPARATION

1. Roll out the puff pastry and cut in rectangles of more or less 1.9 inch X 2.7 inch (5×7 cm)
2. Lay the rectangles on a baking sheet covered with a parchment paper, brush the rectangles with egg yolk

3. Preheat the oven at 200 C° or 392 F° and bake for more or less 10 minutes. When the rectangles become golden, remove them from the oven and make cool.
4. Cut horizontally the rectangles and fill them with custard, and bake them again for more or less 2 or 3 minutes.
5. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with plenty of icing sugar and serve hot and now…. Let’s see if you don’t get dirty 😀
